Expand Emergency Power Design - AE Sole Source

Provide completed 100% design and construction documents to expand emergency power to HVAC systems at the Carl T. Hayden VA Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona. This Scope of Work sets forth specific requirements for performance of architect-engineer (A-E) services required for this Contract. The A-E, as an independent contractor and not as an agent of the Government, must, in accordance with the terms and conditions set forth in this contract, furnish all labor, management, facilities, supplies, equipment and material (other than those to be furnished by the Government as herein-after specified), and perform all tasks that are necessary to accomplish the work described herein. Accomplish the required services and furnish to the Government, reports and other data together with supporting material developed during the period of service. During the prosecution of the work, provide adequate professional supervision and quality control to assure the accuracy, quality, completeness of deliverables, and progress of the work in accordance with the approved schedule. The A-E must also consider the use of recovered materials, energy conservation, pollution prevention and waste reduction to the maximum extent practicable in developing specifications. This is an active hospital, as such, work on site will need to be constructed in such a way as to limit shutdowns and minimize impact to the patients. At a minimum, the A-E will provide a construction phasing plan, including detailed utility plans.
